Reviewing our photos

This is a great way to see our reunion photos with ease, Wendy. I have been doing this for a while and sometimes it catches the attention of other family members when they are in my "office".  Putting the photos in a digital frame is another way. Ann

Ways to enjoy reunion photos

Hi everyone,

After enjoying Jane's recent email with her reunion photos, I got to thinking about other ways to keep those wonderful feelings going. I loaded my photos into my screen saver option, so now I'm reliving our fun on a regular basis. I'm wondering what the rest of you may be doing with your photos. . . I'd love some other ideas.

Hugs to all,
Wendy D.

On the road s

Hi everyone,
We have been travelling since July 9th and are now in Holland, Michigan for the last of three nights. It is beautiful here. For a person who has lived in the desert so long, it is hard to get over how green and lush everything is on our travels in the midwest. We are headed toward Ohio tomorrow.
I feel like I am becoming a seasoned driver and can  even get this rig parked with directions of course. Paul and I share the driving so that we can keep our wits about us. Our two friends are driving theirs and do the same.

After the initial "excitement"

Hello all,

just picked up our reunion booklet. Many memories already flooding back and decided another more extensive perusal of our bios was top on the list!!! OK - after 3 I decided to read slower and have the greatest desire to email each one a personal note. You are all so part of my being - what a great reunion and such a chance to reconnect, share and be blessed !

Thanks to all
Cindy

Dianne

So nice to hear Dianne had a good time on the cruise. It was her first reunion, and she was so quiet. We tried to draw her out and make her feel included, so it's nice to know she enjoyed herself. Hopefully she'll join us again!

Lunch with Dianne

I had lunch yesterday (July 6th) with Dianne Vanoss. She and a few of her friends came up to San Antonio from Corpus Christi for the day. Her friends told me about how much she still talks about the reunion and all the fun she had. I'm now planning a fabulous European vacation for them (because as a travel agent, that's what I do, you know!).

Dianne hadn't heard about Jennifer and the infamous "Natalie" so I shared the story with her. All of a sudden a shriek came from our table (no, it wasn't Natalie) and an outburst of laughter! The patrons of the restaurant all looked our way, wondering what the uproar was all about. What a hoot to still be able to relive that memorable moment.

Thinking of all

I was at Barry yesterday to return the Barry banner to the Alumni House. Stopped in the chapel and said a prayer for all of our intentions. Prayed for our deceased classmates and for all our classmates who were not with us at the reunion but always with us in spirit. And for our parents who had the wisdom to send us to Barry!

Upcoming trip

Never saw that other couple before and I am terrible at Spanish----which is a shame as we leave for Costa Rica in the am to see our son and pregnant daughter in law!  When i get back i will see if I can figure out how to post pics --- it is truly a beautiful country.  Enough expats there that there will be fireworks on the fourth!
Cindy

WHO IS THAT COUPLE?

Okay, Babies. Look at the couple to the left of this post. WHO is this couple who is following us and writing in Spanish?

Just curious. I don't recognize these people. Does anyone else?

Happy Independence Day

The Rialto Bridge in Venice

I thought I would share a photo from our trip to Italy
Congratulations, now it seems that everyone is getting the hang of this blogging so now you all have to add your pics to your profile. What fun this is. I have been overdosing (pun) on the news about the death of Michael Jackson. It is very sad. Anyway on a more positive note. I promised myself I would download the pics from the cruise, this weekend. I'm just excited to have a 4 day w/e.

Happy Fourth of July to Everyone!

Great pictures! And thanks for the Payers but I think she was praying for those of us who were about to loose our shirts in the slot machines!

Praying for protection

Okay... a correction. It was Barb's praying for our safety that kept us from getting struck by lightning along with anyone else doing the same.

Would someone please pass the muster

The reason why no one was struck by lightning at muster was because of Barb Desch. I'll post the photo

Cindy, I hope your foot is much better now. How did you manage to walk on it?

Wendy G., I think you were the Babe with 309 photos...excellent photos! All the photos contributed by everyone are great. This is fun.

Since June 1st, I have signed up for Facebook, Shutterfly, and Blogger. This site is easy once you get it right. That is, if I can remember what I am doing.
Here's my first photo on Blogger.

Hello from Ginger

Hi Barry Babes,
I just want to post a greeting to ensure I remember HOW to do this - as this is new for me and I am not sure I 'get' it yet.

So hello to all - I am still enjoying the photos and smile when I think of all the fun we had at our reunion.

Yes - did you see the Barry Alummi Newsletter with the article on Louise McCormick - only gal from our year written up??? She mentions Sister Margaret James - now for sure she'll get fired...

Love,
Ginger
Everyone, I found Bonnie Benedict. She contacted me on face book and there is her email bonniehallg@hotmail.com.

HAVING TROUBLE POSTING TO THE BLOG?

It appears that some are having a problem posting to the BLOG so I've written directions.

Once you have registered, you can go to the Blogsite and sign in. The sign in button is found on the upper right hand corner of the Blogsite. I never sign out, so it makes it easier to blog whenever I want.

When your "dashboard" comes up, press the Blue Box that reads "NEW POST." A new window will open and you can either type or copy and paste your post.

You can also upload pictures by pressing the little square box third from the end (it has a blue sky). If you have the picture on your computer, you just need to browse and click on the file. It will ask about size, position, etc.. After you make that decision. If your pictures are on another server, you will have to direct the Blogsite to that server. Don't be afraid to make a mistake. You won't break anything.

After you preview, you can then click on the orange box PUBLISH POST, and it's posted!

Yeah! You're a Blogger!

Joan

Blog??

Oh my gosh - my first blog ever and I thought I was pretty tech savie. Just think, 40 years ago, "blog" wasn't even a word...

"I uploaded a picture!!!!!"

This is an experiment to see if I can get fancy here and add a picture. Oooooooooo I did it!
Aren't I the clever one??? WHERE was this?

GETTING OLD IS A B*TCH!

Hi Everyone!

You know... I was able to get on here and then **poof!!!** I forgot how to add to the messages! I really HATE getting old! I finally figured it out-- I think. The proof will be in whether or not this posts correctly!

Sylvia, I feel for you and those who had to return to work. We were still in Florida travelling and I had papers come in and three classes to teach from our hotel! Next time, I'm definitely going to take the time off so I won't have all those obligations. Thanks to my wonderful roomie, Ellen, and all the others who wondered 'where I was' when they couldn't find me. I was in our stateroom grading papers!

Please send me an email if you were unhappy with any part of the reunion. By all means, please tell me how you think the next reunion can be improved upon. Also-- what part of this reunion did you REALLY like? REALLY DID NOT like? I promise to read and respond to every email so that the next time will be even better. Send an email to me at jmw24@att.net and I will respond individually to you.

Thanks to all of you who posted your pictures. I did bring my camera, but I'm hopeless at taking pictures, so now I can download yours. Thanks to all you wonderfully talented photographers!

Hugs,
Joan

Fabulous cruise!

Hi Babes!

I'm posting to see if this works. If so, the cruise was fabulous! Also, as a comment to Sylvia(and Shirley), it was great to reunite with more Drama majors. Now,along with Linda and myself, we have our own little group-kind of like those nursing students! Thanks to everyone for making our 40th so terrific!

Hello from Ginger

Barry Babes - I am trying this out to see if I can 'blog' - I didn't ever think I would go this route but for my Barry friends - guess I'll try anything. I hope this works - if not I'll need a private tutor....

Love to all - thanks for coming on our fun Barry Babe Bash and let's keep in touch.
Ginger

Living in the now

It was though to come back to work. I would have liked to have had a day to come back to the real world. No such luck but I did get a chance to play with my grandson later that night and that made it better.

I guess that as a drama major I had a unique  experience during my college life. It only became more clear spending a whole weekend with all of you.

Joan and Ellen and I spent a lot of time playing cards and smoking between classes.
After I switched majors I spent most of my junior and senior year inside the auditorium or at Bob's.  my experience building things was very helpful later on since I did most of the repairs around the house when I was a wife and mother. Later, having to do things on my own I got even better.

Spending time with Shirley and the rest of you told me that those where great years although at the time it didn't feel like it.

Thanks for the memories, my friends. I will keep you all in my heart until we meet again

Reunion withdrawal

Hi all,
I am having so much fun reading emails and blog notes!!!  What a way to keep in touch.  And YES I am also boring everyone I see with tales of the most sucessful reunion ever.  Ted says hi.  He enjoyed seeing the pictures that i took and also those shared.

Back to reality

Wow, Cindy, how did you injure yoour foot???? Janie, I am glad you fixed the blog. This is great. Went back to work today and was a bit down after spending time with all of you Babes. Never, realized how much I missed being in touch with my friends. Promise not to get lost again.

Pre-cruise Visit with Mary Cowling Verrett

Hello Barry Babes,

What a time we all had! Once I saw how many were taking photos with all kinds of fancy lenses, I decided to put my camera away. Now in order for you to make a new posting, click on create...you can attach all kinds of photos. Sometimes they jump all around, but don't let that get you frustrated. Preview at the end & save!

A few of the Barry Babes at the Sofitel Hotel, Miami on arrival.

So Mary Cowling Verrett is still married to Herman "Sonny" & they have 4 children & 6 grandchildren. Mary is living in Cocoa, FL & we had a delightful breakfast the morning of my flight to Miami. Mary & Sonny are taking care of her 94 year old parents as well as Sonny's 84 year old parents.

Mary's daughter-in-law was due with their second baby on June 4 & Mary was anticipating taking care of the 2 1/2 year old big sister during this event. She very much regretted not being able to join us for the Reunion.
Thanks to Nancy, Eve, Wendy G, Regi, Marian & for all the wonderful organizers of the Reunion. Linda, your check is in the mail from Canada & will arrive in 10 days. There were still many classmates that I never had a chance to talk with at any length....so another reunion is a MUST!
Class of '69, you are the greatest!
Love,
Catherine

Cruise Photos

Hi all,
So sorry I could not make the cruise; the photos are wonderful! Thank you so much for sending them out.
Mike and I will be going on a cruise at the end of July with our daughter and her family to celebrate her 40th and all this was planned before I knew about the reunion cruise.
I was In South Fl. at the end of April and visited the Barry campus. I was blown away by the size and facilities; quite a change over the last 40 years!!
Fondly,
Pat

Cruise news

Besides having the time of my life and seeing you all, I thought i would update you with the compelling!!! news - my foot was swollen for the trip because it was broken!!! Not that anything but elevation and ice can help.  Thanks for such a wonderful cruise!
